The  Press  at
Windswept  Farm
Saugerties, NY
Yes, we really are a press.   Actually, a few of them, all rather small.   They are treadle operated.  You pump them with your foot as you feed paper or card-stock onto the platen and pull your hand out....very quickly..... to feed the next piece.

That's what I did as a teenager, working in a small print shop in an old stone barn from the 1800's in upstate New York.  It got so cold in the winter I had to wear gloves with the finger tips chewed off.  I must have printed 50 zillion raffle tickets!    Printing is now a hobby, so I no longer need to hitchhike across town on Saturday mornings.
